Sheila Richardson is an award winning artist (Liquitex; Excellence in Painting) and a recipient of a number of Irish and British Arts Councils Awards. She graduated from the Limerick School of Art & Design in 1990 with a distinction in painting. She went on to complete a Masters Degree in Fine art at the University of Wales followed by a career in Teaching Art & Design in the UK. She has exhibited extensively in the UK and Ireland where she is represented by Draiocht Art Gallery in Adare, Co. Limerick. Currently based at Contact Studios in Limerick where she is a practicing artist and Committee Member, Sheila is also an Art Therapist at the University Hospital Limerick; having received an MA first in Art Therapy from Crawford Art College, 2014. Her recent work has centered around research in the field of the psychology of art and the process of creativity which in turn informs her painting.
